A dental implant is made up of three main components:

- A dental crown – Dr. Strober will create a custom-made dental crown that matches the color of your surrounding teeth. This is the only part of the dental implant that will be visible in the end.
In order to successfully place dental implants, the titanium root must be surgically inserted into your jawbone and allowed to fuse during a process called osseointegration. This fusion process can take anywhere from 3 to 6 months to complete. Once the root is anchored into place, your new dental crown can be placed.
