What to Expect as a New Patient

new patient at country club dentistry 1

We welcome you to the website of [link id=’50457′ text=’Rancho Mirage, CA dentist’ esc_html=’false’], Dr. Rod Strober of Country Club Dentistry. Our dental team looks forward to meeting you soon if you decide to become a new patient. Finding a good general dentist with whom you feel comfortable and safe is very important. Several factors must be considered if you’re looking for a general dentist or cosmetic dentist for yourself and other family members.

You will want to know in what areas of dentistry your new dentist practices, what amenities are offered, where the office is located, and what types of insurance and financing options are accepted. We hope you find all that and more on our website. We also like to provide our patients with articles to help them learn what to expect, especially if you’re a first-time patient.

When you can find a cosmetic dentist the entire family likes and trusts, you know you’re set for many years of unrivaled dental care. If you have anxiety about dental visits, please know that we will do everything in our power to keep you calm and comfortable during your dental appointments, and we encourage our patients to ask as many questions as they want. The more you know about what will occur during your appointment, the more relaxed you will likely remain throughout the treatment.

At Your First Visit, You Can Expect…

We know that you trust us with the tremendous responsibility of caring for your oral health, which, in turn, cares for your general health and emotional well-being. To ensure we are honoring that trust, we perform screening tests to ensure we are taking optimal care of you and your smile.

1. We will first gather your medical history through some forms and conversations.

Your overall health is closely linked to oral health, and genetic factors may influence both. Understanding your health context helps us anticipate problems before they arise.

2. We will perform a check on your teeth, gums, and bite.

Bite dysfunction can cause severe effects like tooth damage, headaches, earaches, tinnitus, and more. Even though we don’t treat TMJ, we do everything to ensure your bite is healthy and that problems are appropriately identified and rectified.

3. We will screen for oral cancer and any other anomalies.

With our quick and noninvasive screening, we can detect oral cancer early to give you peace of mind. When oral cancer is detected in its early stages, it is highly treatable, and the survival rate is promising.

4. We will check your existing restorations.

We’ll make sure all your current restorations are healthy and functional. We also screen for new problems and offer up a treatment plan.

5. We will perform a periodontal screening.

Your gums are just as important as your teeth, so we will thoroughly evaluate your periodontal health. We will check your gum tissue, perform gum pocket measurements, and ensure those gums are pink and healthy.

Safety First

Since the spring of 2020, all dental offices have made significant policy and procedure changes.  You will likely experience the following before or during your first visit:

  • Our team may contact you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again in the office.
  • You may see that our waiting room no longer has magazines and other offerings from pre-Covid days.
  • We have hand sanitizer you may use when you enter the office. You will also find some in the reception area and other places in the office for you to use as needed.
  • We will do our best to allow sufficient time between patients to reduce waiting times for you and reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Advanced Dental Technology

We are excited to offer our patients some innovative dental technology. Dr. Strober will explain the technology as we use it, and we think you’ll find these fantastic pieces of dental equipment allow us to provide you with the dental treatments you need more efficiently and with more comfort.

Financing

Please don’t hesitate to ask our front desk team about financing options and how our insurance billing process works. Not all patients can afford extensive dental work, and we will do everything we can to make your treatment affordable.
